PopUps: Inside Access @ Mike Carter Construction
Tue., Aug. 22, 2017
Ivey Professional Building
435 12th Street W, Bradenton, FL 34205
Have you ever seen the past and the future at the same time? Old buildings + new uses = character, charm, identity, and a sense of place.
Like the bricks at O'Bricks? Enjoy the view at Pier 22?
These are examples of historic preservation through adaptive reuse. Explore how we as a community preserve special places and meet some of the people who make it happen.
- Host Mike Carter of Mike Carter Construction will share adventures in renovating and the evolution of Old Main Street from his "front-row seat" in the historic Ivey building.
- Special guest Cathy Slusser, author, historian and Director of Historic Resources for Manatee County Clerk of Circuit Court, will share her own TED Talk-style presentation on local history.
Seriously, once you've heard from these two, you're officially a Bradenton insider! Food, drink, and music provided by Realize Bradenton.
Space limited to first 30 RSVP's who guarantee they will attend.
>>> RSVP by Friday 8/18 to email@example.com or (941) 447-9406.
(This pop-up event is FREE thanks to Realize Bradenton and the Knight Foundation Fund of the Manatee Community Foundation).
