May 13 – “The Aging Brain vs. Alzheimer’s Disease” with Dr. Alan B. Grindal MD, FAAN.
Although “normal“ aging and Alzheimer’s disease are often seen as independent categories of cognitive decline, it may be more accurate to view them as a continuum of change. Early symptoms of the two conditions can be identical. It is important that we differentiate the cause of change from its impact on individual functionality. This discussion will focus on subtle diagnostic differences, methods of detection and the means of intervention we have at the present and what will be hopefully available in the future.
