May 22 – Flipper (1962) Rated G, 87 minutes.
(Selected by Dr. Randall Wells, Senior Scientist and Director of the Sarasota Dolphin Research Program)
The surprise hit of 1963, Flipper is a thoroughly captivating outdoor adventure. Sandy Ricks, the young son of a Florida fisherman, nurses a wounded dolphin back to health. His father insists the rehabilitated dolphin be released, but – much to Sandy’s delight – that’s not the last they see of Flipper.
