The City of Bradenton has contracted Kimley-Horn to develop a master plan that will guide the expansion of the Riverwalk eastward. Supported by a grant from the Knight Donor Advised Fund of the Manatee Community Foundation, Realize Bradenton worked with Kimley-Horn to coordinate resident participation.

Through the grant, Realize Bradenton assembled a team of Bradenton-area Millennials who worked alongside the Project Partners to both develop skills and build ‘Park-lets’ (temporary mini-parks) onsite at the ‘Park for a Day’ Event held April 21, 2018 to test ideas for the community to experience.

These community-minded organizations are contributing ideas, volunteers, and other resources to support Creating Together and the expansion of Riverwalk.

Many thanks to the Knight Donor Advised Fund of the Manatee Community Foundation.

As part of the grant, the Center for Active Design, a nonprofit that uses evidence-based design to foster healthy and engaged communities, worked with Realize Bradenton to conduct surveys of residents, exercise enthusiasts, business owners, visitors, and others. Click here for survey results.
