Howl’ween is a costume contest for pets in celebration of the fostering, adopting, and loving of animals.
BRADENTON, Fla. — The Bradenton Farmers’ Market is hosting Howl’ween, an annual pet costume contest and parade on Old Main Street, Saturday, Oct. 28, 2017. Dress your pet in their best Halloween costume and celebrate the fostering, adopting, and loving of animals by participating in a fun-filled parade in Downtown Bradenton.
"Howl’ween is always a popular event at the Bradenton Farmers’ Market. It allows us to highlight the pets that are available for adoption, and the needs of our local animal shelters,” said Peg Haynes, market manager for the Bradenton Farmers’ Market. “It’s fun to see what costumes the pets—and their owners—come dressed in.”
All Howl’ween participants must sign in and line up at the intersection of Third Avenue West and Old Main Street at 10 a.m. The pet parade will begin at 10:30 a.m., followed by photo and selfie time at 11 a.m. Prizes will be awarded around 11:30 a.m. for Best Overall, Most Scary, Most Creative, and Most Funny. Judges are Wade Tatangelo, editor of the Herald Tribune Ticket, Kristin Tatangelo, owner of Kristin’s Paws in Paradise Professional Pet Sitting, and Sarah Brown, Chief, Manatee County Animal Services.
The 2017–2018 sponsors of the Bradenton Farmers’ Market are the Bradenton Herald, Downtown Development Authority, Florida Blue, Manatee Community Federal Credit Union, and Mosaic. Sarabay Real Estate, Inc. is a community partner.
