Reflections of Manatee

Reflections of Manatee is dedicated to the preservation of the Manatee Mineral Spring Historic Site, which includes the site of the Angola settlement, and the Curry Houses Historic District. Our goals include interpreting and sharing the histories of this unique area of Manatee County, Florida. 

Pittsburgh Pirates & Bradenton Marauders

The Bradenton Marauders are a minor league baseball team based in Bradenton, Florida, that plays in the Florida State League. The Marauders are the minor league affiliate of the Pittsburgh Pirates and their home games are played at LECOM Park, which also serves as the Pirates’ spring training facility.

Hernando DeSoto Historical Society

The Hernando De Soto Historical Society is a nonprofit community organization of 225 conquistadors who celebrate the historical significance of Spanish explorer Hernando de Soto’s landing near the mouth of the Manatee River in May 1539. With a membership that includes many civic, governmental and business leaders, the Society serves in a variety of community-oriented roles, supporting various local charities: Lighthouse of Manasota, Adopt-A-Family, Toys for Tots, Keep Manatee Beautiful, and the Boys & Girls Clubs of Manatee County, and others.

Village of the Arts

The Village is Florida’s largest live-work art community and where over 30 businesses call home. Galleries, studios, cafes, healing arts, jewelry, fashion, and books can all be found here. ArtWalk occurs every first Friday and Saturday of the month.

The Bishop Museum of Science and Nature

The Bishop Museum of Science and Nature is the largest natural and cultural history museum on Florida’s Gulf Coast. The Bishop interprets the region from the Pleistocene to the present. Highlights include fossil evidence of Florida’s earliest animal inhabitants, the Montague Tallant collection of prehistoric and early post-contact archaeological artifacts, and the Environmental Hall focusing on Florida’s ecology and biodiversity in the Pine Uplands and Riverine Galleries.

ArtCenter Manatee

ArtCenter Manatee is the premier center for art, art education, and unique gifts in Manatee County. The 10,000 square-foot building in downtown Bradenton features three galleries, five classrooms, an Artists’ Market gift shop and an art library featuring over 3,000 art volumes.
