Realize Bradenton Recognized For Creative Work

BRADENTON, Fla. — Realize Bradenton was awarded four ADDY Awards by the local chapter of the American Advertising Federation for the Bradenton Blues Festival and on Sunday, Feb. 25, 2018. Conducted annually by the American Advertising Federation (AAF), the American Advertising Awards recognize the creative spirit and excellence in the art of advertising.

“We are extremely grateful to be recognized by the American Advertising Federation for our efforts,” said Ann Breitinger, Chair of the Realize Bradenton Board of Directors. “These four ADDY awards highlight the creativity and marketing prowess of Realize Bradenton, including the positive outcomes from these efforts.”

AdFed Suncoast, the local chapter of AAF, awarded Realize Bradenton with a Gold ADDY and Amy Award for the Integrated Media Public Service for the 2017 Bradenton Blues Festival; a Gold ADDY for Illustration of the 2017 Bradenton Blues Festival poster; a Silver ADDY for the Public Service Online/Interactive for how-to video; and a Silver ADDY for Public Service Television Commercial for

The advertising campaign for the 2017 Bradenton Blues Festival encompassed print and digital marketing efforts, including branded collateral, and spanned March–Dec. The campaign incorporated the original artwork of Ringling College of Art + Design faculty member, Tom Casmer, and the design work of Paula Murray. The project culminated with the mid-November sellout of the annual event. The festival was attended by visitors from 5 foreign countries, 33 states, and 229 zip codes in Florida outside of Bradenton.

The campaign comprised of two how-to videos to assist in launching and educating the public on the use of the website. Directed by Realize Bradenton, videographer Jason Jeter captured and produced the videos., which promotes Bradenton to locals and visitors, highlights the 145 places to eat, shop, stay, and play, 25 historical sites, and 60 pieces of public artwork in downtown Bradenton. The user-friendly, responsive design utilizes GPS on a smartphone to provide real-time information to a user. Since March 2017, the website has attracted over 80,000 visitors.

“The quality and quantity of design work that Realize Bradenton art directs is nothing short of astounding,” said Johnette Isham Executive Director of Realize Bradenton. “As a nonprofit, we understand the power of words and images, so it is rewarding to have our efforts acknowledged out of the many incredible entries. I am fortunate to work with an inventive staff and talented artists who leverage their creativity for the benefit of Bradenton.”

Attracting more than 60,000 national entries annually, the ADDY Awards are the advertising industry’s largest competition, recognizing and rewarding creative excellence in the art of advertising. Conducted by the AAF, the local Ad Club phase is the first of a three-tier, national competition to recognize the very best in their markets.
