Realize Bradenton, a nonprofit organization that brings people together, selected Ben Bakker to serve on their Board of Directors for a second three-year term. The Board of Directors promote redevelopment and economic growth in downtown Bradenton by transforming places, engaging people, and realizing possibilities.
“We are pleased to have Ben return to our Board of Directors,” says Ann Breitinger, board Chair of Realize Bradenton. “His commitment to the continued growth, revitalization, and redevelopment of downtown Bradenton is an invaluable asset to our organization.”
Bakker is the Vice President of HJB Properties and is a real estate agent in the Commercial division of Michael Saunders & Company. He currently holds positions with the Manatee County Chamber’s Downtown Redevelopment Committee (Chair), Manatee County Infill Redevelopment Taskforce, and the Planning Commission for the City of Bradenton (Chair). He is a past Chair of the Manatee Young Professionals, Leadership Manatee Alumni Association, and Manatee Tiger Bay Club. In 2010, he was a founding board member of Realize Bradenton.
“Having had the immense privilege of being a founding board member of Realize Bradenton, I am delighted to return to such an amazing organization,” said Bakker. “The ideas, excitement, and progress Realize Bradenton continues to generate for the city is hard to deny. I am looking forward to the opportunity to continue making my hometown a vibrant place to live, work, and play.”
Realize Bradenton’s current Board of Directors includes Mark Boehmig, Ann Breitinger (Chair), Kim Daglish, Bridgette Halliburton, Jedd Heap, April Lane, Sue Revell (Vice Chair), Melodie Rich (Treasurer), Kay Wight, and Jennifer Zavadil.
