Here are a few events in downtown Bradenton during Festival.
World Party Celebration Friday, Oct. 15, 6 pm – 10 pm South Florida Museum Enjoy music, performances, demonstrations, activities, and delicacies from a diverse array of global cultures. Performances and food included with admission. Cash bar for beer and wine.
ArtSlam Saturday, Oct. 16, 10 am – 10 pm Old Main Street ArtSlam takes art out of the studios, galleries, theatres, and books and onto Old Main Street so everyone can connect with the creative process. ArtSlam is a juried event designed to showcase the collaborative creativity of artists, designers, musicians, dancers, architects, story tellers, poets, performers, and other creatives.
10 teams in 12 hours will evolve art before our eyes that will be documented and critiqued real time via social media—streaming video, Facebook and Twitter. Live meets viral.
Enjoy ArtSlam and the food and libations of the Farmers’ Market, restaurants, and taverns of historic downtown. At the evening’s end vote for the team displaying the pinnacle of collaborative creativity.
Early in the ArtSlam (9 am-2 pm) children and families will have multiple opportunities to create together. After sunset, adults will engage in the creative process and help select the winning ArtSlam team.
Art Golf in the Village of the Arts Saturday, Oct. 16, 10 am – 10 pm The Village of the Arts Golf pros and amateurs alike will delight at Art Golf, an outdoor miniature golf course, designed and built by local artists from Bradenton’s Village of the Arts. The holes making up the course will be placed at various locations around the 42-acre Village of the Arts. This will NOT be your grandfather’s putt-putt course, rather a collection of functional and fantastic art installations designed for visual and recreational enjoyment.
