Downtown nonprofit organizations meet monthly to collaborate on promotions and events that join arts, culture, heritage, and sports to make downtown Bradenton a unique place to live, work, and visit.
ArtCenter Manatee is the premier center for art, art education, and unique gifts in Manatee County. The 10,000 square-foot building in downtown Bradenton features three galleries, five classrooms, an Artists’ Market gift shop and an art library featuring over 3,000 art volumes.
With thousands of books, this is the place to find that perfect novel. The Manatee County Public Library System is the winner of the 2013 Florida Library Association Library Innovation Award and the Betty Davis Miller Youth Services Award.
Hernando De Soto Historical Society
The Hernando De Soto Historical Society is a nonprofit community organization of 225 conquistadors who celebrate the historical significance of Spanish explorer Hernando de Soto’s landing near the mouth of the Manatee River in May 1539. With a membership that includes many civic, governmental and business leaders, the Society serves in a variety of community-oriented roles, supporting various local charities: Lighthouse of Manasota, Adopt-A-Family, Toys for Tots, Keep Manatee Beautiful, and the Boys & Girls Clubs of Manatee County, and others.
Manatee Performing Arts Center
Home of the national award-winning Manatee Players and Kiwanis Club of Bradenton. Available for rental for weddings, conferences and special events. Open year-round. Over 60 seasons of presenting live theater in Bradenton.
Manatee Village Historical Park
Step back into time and visit this collection of restored buildings from Manatee County’s settlement history and experience life in Manatee County before the arrival of modern conveniences such as automobiles and electricity. The Manatee Village Historical Park is a joint project of the Manatee County Historical Commission, Manatee County Clerk of Circuit Court, the Manatee County Board of County Commission, and the City of Bradenton.
Pittsburgh Pirates & Bradenton Marauders
The Bradenton Marauders are a minor league baseball team based in Bradenton, Florida that plays in the Florida State League. The Marauders are the minor league affiliate of the Pittsburgh Pirates; their home games are played at McKechnie Field, which also serves as the Pirates' spring training facility.
South Florida Museum
The largest natural and cultural history museum on Florida’s Gulf Coast. The museum interprets the region from the Pleistocene to the present. Highlights include fossil evidence of Florida’s earliest mammals and marine species and the Montague Tallant collection of prehistoric and early post-contact archeological artifacts.

The Village of the Arts is a vibrant community of artists living and working together in Bradenton. The Village is Florida’s largest art community, and over 30 businesses call the Village home. Galleries, studios, cafes, healing arts, jewelry, fashion and books can all be found as you wander the streets of this charming area of restored 1920s and 1930s cottages.
